$10 Gold Eagle for $339 + $8 S&H
In the local paper, I saw this add from New World Rarities, in Hauppage NY.
1 Gold Eagle, $10 face value, 0.48375 oz gold, does not list a condition, for $339 plus $8 shipping, so $348. 1 877 264 6534, ask for department US-86. With spot at $686, that would be $332 for the bullion. I don't know if there is any numismatic value to this coin. I'm a newbie to this stuff, but this appears to be an average price but not a great one. Opinions? |

Not a bad price for one of those. There is a numismatic premium to these old gold coins. Do some research on ebay and see what $10 Gold Liberties have been selling for over the last few days.

Re: $10 Gold Eagle for $339 + $8 S&H
Thanks for the tip ... I ALMOST pulled the trigger when they were $345 ... now that they came down a few bucks and gold spot went up a few bucks, I had to do it. At $678 for two incl. $10 shipping (after about $10 cash back on my credit card), it came out to basically the spot price - couldn't turn it down.
Technically, the gold value is $666 for .9675 total ounces (at $688.40 spot). For only $6 over spot each for a 100-year-old coin, I figure it's worth it. Heck, an ugly Krug would cost me $695. |
